VINTAGE Star Island Sterling Silver & Enamel Charm / Pendant / Earrings
A BLAST FROM THE PAST! A vintage Fritz Reu sterling silver and
enamel Star Island shield charm. The charm measures approximately
¾", including the split ring x ½". It is marked sterling .925 made
in Germany on the reverse.
This is a new, never before sold item.
These were originally stocked in a Harrisburg, PA shop and are from
the early '60s.
They have been in storage for 45-50 years and have only seen the light of
day within the past year.
A SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY to have this custom Star Island piece by the
German silversmith Fritz Reu.
We have JUST 34—the last there are—do not waste time "thinking" about it. People are buying them rapidly!! When they
are gone, they are gone!! When we get down to the last 12 we will raise the price to $125.

Barnacle Earrings

These earrings were handcrafted on Star Island by Pelican Sarah O'Connor via a technique known as lampwork. Using rods of glass and a small propane torch, each barnacle is formed separately and applied to the base "rock" bead. No two are exactly alike—even in the pairs.
A very unique, amazing earring with realistic barnacles! You are not apt to run into another pair unless you happen to run into another lucky Shoaler with excellent taste.

These lovely earrings are pressed from hand-carved original designs. Each is cut and trimmed individually, then bisque-fired before being glazed by hand. They are fired to 2400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 hours, but are not cool enough to remove
from the kiln for another 24 hours.
As the pieces are fired, the raised design emerges from the melting glaze. Multi-glaze
designs have their details carefully painted on in contrasting colors.
These are individually crafted by a local artisan and hung on sterling silver wires. Their hand-crafted nature means that earrings may vary slightly.
The earrings are approximately 7⁄8" wide and tall, and hang on sterling silver wires.

Cobalt Raku Sea Star Earrings

Raku is a way of firing pottery first used in the 16th century Japan. These hand-formed earrings are painted with two or three coats of glaze, fired in a small kiln and removed while red hot. They are plunged into a tub filled with crushed leaves or sawdust, which bursts into flames. A lid is then fitted into place. The fire consumes all the oxygen in the container, causing the glaze to reduce and change colors. The pieces are then cooled in water after which the soot must be scrubbed off by hand.
